Schulze beaming to 'Transporter'
Dec. 26, 2001

Matt Schulze will star opposite Jason Statham in the action feature "The Transporter," produced and financed by Luc Besson's Paris-based Europa Corp. The project is shooting in France. Written by Besson and Robert Kamen, "Transporter" marks the English-language directing debut of Hong Kong action helmer Corey Yuen. The project is about a man (Statham) whose job is to deliver packages without asking any questions. Complications arise when he breaks those rules. Schulze ("The Fast and the Furious") will play the film's nemesis, named Wallstreet. Hong Kong actress Shu Qi also stars. Current Entertainment's Steve Chasman is producing the film, budgeted at about $20 million. Schulze, managed by Chasman and David Gardner at Current, next stars in New Line Cinema's "Blade 2: Bloodhunt." His credits include the first installment of "Blade," Miramax Films' "Boys and Girls" and the indie features "Downward Angel" and "Dementia." (Zorianna Kit)
